CV ATS Checker
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 13 July 2026
CV ATS Checker is built so that your resume never leaves your device.
What we collect
Nothing. The extension does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. Specifically:
- Your resume file and its contents are never uploaded. Parsing and scoring happen entirely inside your browser.
- Any job-posting text (pasted or captured from a page) is processed locally and is never sent anywhere.
- The extension does not use analytics, tracking, cookies, advertising, or fingerprinting. This website uses privacy-friendly, cookieless, anonymous page-view analytics (self-hosted Umami) — no personal data, no cookies, no cross-site tracking.
- The extension makes no network requests with your data, with one explicit, opt-in exception — the AI analysis button (see below). There is no database and no account.
AI analysis (optional, opt-in)
The report has an “Analyze with AI” button. Only when you click it, the extracted text of your resume and the job posting is sent over HTTPS to our server, which forwards it to an AI model to produce the advice and returns the answer. The text is used solely to generate that answer: we do not store it, log its contents, or use it for training. If you never click the button, nothing is ever transmitted.
How your data is processed
All analysis (text extraction from PDF/DOCX, ATS scoring, keyword matching, page rendering for the “robot view” preview) runs locally in your browser using bundled code.
What is stored on your device
- Your last report (the parsed resume analysis and the file name) is saved in the browser’s local extension storage, so you can re-open it and compare it against job postings without re-uploading the file. It stays on your device, is never transmitted, and can be removed at any time with the Delete button on the upload screen. Uninstalling the extension also removes it.
- Captured page text (see below) is kept in session storage only and is discarded automatically when you close the browser.
Permissions
- activeTab + scripting — when you click the toolbar icon, the extension reads the visible text of the page you are on, so it can offer to compare your resume against the job posting you were viewing. This happens only on that single click, only for that tab, and the text never leaves your browser.
- Job-board badge (content script) — on job-posting pages of major job boards (hh.ru, career.habr.com, superjob.ru, rabota.ru, getmatch.ru, linkedin.com/jobs, indeed.com) the extension shows a small “Compare with my resume” badge. The badge reads nothing by itself: the posting text is read only when you click it, is processed on your device, and is never transmitted. You can dismiss the badge; it stays hidden for the session. The extension cannot read any other pages in the background.
- storage — used to keep your last report and the captured page text on your device, as described above.
Third parties
None. No data is shared with any third party because no data is collected.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same location with a new effective date.
